Biography
During the '50s and '60s, a husband-and-wife duo from Florida rose to great prominence by delivering song sermons alongside downhome accounts of spiritual triumph. "Brother" Sullivan Pugh served as lead vocalist and supplied blues-tinged guitar, with his wife Iola supplying the harmony vocals. Only Rev. James Cleveland exceeded their sales figures on the gospel circuit during that period.
