Biography
In 1966 the rock outfit Family Tree assembled in California, though its existence proved fleeting. The roster comprised vocalist-guitarist Bob Segarini, vocalist-keyboardist Michael Dure, drummer Vann Scater, keyboardist-guitarist Jimmy de Cocq, and bassist Bill Trochim. Two years later the band signed with RCA Records and cut its sole album, Miss Butters. Tracks on that solitary release included “Any Other Baby,” “Nine to Three,” “Butters Lament,” “Simple Life,” and “Melancholy Vaudeville Man.” Bob Segarini subsequently played with the Dudes, Roxy, and the Wackers, then embarked on a solo career that yielded sustained success in broadcasting.
