Biography
The Januaries, an alternative outfit steeped in '60s pop sensibilities, comprises vocalist and guitarist Debbie Diamond, guitarist/programmer/producer Rick Boston, keyboardist/programmer John Nau, bassist Tobias Kroon, drummer Petur Smith, and trumpet player Mitch Maker. A veteran of the punk outfit Pink Fuzz, Diamond once performed alongside Rick Boston, who helmed production duties on Rickie Lee Jones' Ghostyhead in 1997. Drawing from those varied histories as well as a mutual regard for Burt Bacharach, Serge Gainsbourg, the Doors, Sandie Shaw, and Nico, the group issued both a self-titled EP and full-length album through Foodchain Records in 2000.
