Biography
Kamikaze Hearts, a four-piece outfit from Albany, New York, merged indie and Americana with a knowing yet unpretentious touch. Matthew Loiacono fronted the group, whose lineup also featured Gaven Richard, Bob Buckley, and Troy Pohl. In 2000 the band issued a self-released EP that shared its name with the project, though copies quickly disappeared. Two years later that effort gave way to a second, identically titled full-length album issued under the band’s own auspices. East Coast gigs and favorable college-radio attention followed the album’s arrival. The quartet additionally scheduled a 7-inch single for release in fall 2003 alongside further dates throughout the Northeast and overseas.
