Biography
The Panic Channel emerged as a post-grunge side project boasting an impressive roster that includes guitarist Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and drummer Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction, Banyan, Porno for Pyros), complemented by bassist Chris Chaney (Taylor Hawkins, Alanis Morissette, Jane's Addiction, sub.bionic) and vocalist/guitarist Steve Isaacs (Skycycle). Navarro and Isaacs first crossed paths at an MTV Video Music Awards Show just as Isaacs launched his run as an MTV VJ, yet contact resumed only years afterward when a shared acquaintance attended one of Isaacs' solo performances and reconnected the pair. Those early jam sessions soon evolved into a complete ensemble once Chaney and Perkins joined. In August 2006, Capitol Records released the band's debut album (One), coinciding with the ascent of lead single "Why Cry" on the modern rock charts.
