Biography
The Quadrajets came together as Southern trash rockers, uniting frontman the Cheetah with guitarists Roman Hardwick P.I. and Jerome J. Jerome, bassist Catfish Plate, and drummer Red Truth, who later gave way to K.Y. Van Zant. Their debut arrived in spring 1995 on the Sympathy for the Record Industry label with the LP When I Lay My Burden Down. Alabama Hip Shake appeared the following year. After finishing Pay the Deuce in 1998, Van Zant suffered paralysis in an auto accident. J.R.R. Tokken stepped in on drums, enabling the remaining members to continue and complete When the World's on Fire in 2000. That release became the band's final studio album before they disbanded in 2001, though they issued the live set If The Good Lord's Willing prior to the split. Cheetah and Tokken subsequently formed the punk-blues duo The Immortal Lee County Killers.
