Biography
In 2004 Nashville songwriters Rory Lee Feek and Tim Johnson launched the short-lived Giantslayer Records to anchor their family-oriented Song Trust project. Their holiday number "Bring Him Home Santa," issued jointly by Giantslayer and Capitol Records in 2007, sent all proceeds to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Performed by an unnamed young girl and released under the Song Trust name, the single reached the Billboard Country Airplay chart in January 2008. Merry Kidsmas arrived in 2009, presenting an entire set of Christmas material sung by children that mixed covers with new songs, among them "Bring Him Home Santa." The same year brought The Dog Singer, a country collection of tracks written for dogs and their owners. Both the project and the label quickly faded once Feek turned his attention to Joey + Rory, his husband-and-wife country/bluegrass duo.
