Biography
In the mid-'60s the Ugly Ducklings ranked with the Haunted among Canada's strongest rock outfits. Their raunchy R&B/rock approach drew principally from the Rolling Stones while incorporating elements of the Kinks and Pretty Things, yet the Toronto band surpassed the Haunted through the greater strength of its original songs. A national hit arrived with "Nothin'," after which the group issued an album in 1966 and several singles across 1966 and 1967. International visibility peaked when "Just In Case You're Wondering" appeared on a Pebbles compilation.
