Biography
In the mid-'60s, amid an oversupply of rock acts from Southern California, Things to Come assembled in 1966. Steve Runolfsson handled lead vocals in the original roster, which also featured drummer Russ Kunkel, later a leading session musician, and bassist Bryan Garofalo, another eventual session player who has belonged to Glenn Frey's band since 1982. Across their short run the band managed to release just three singles, after the first of which Runolfsson departed. Their blues-inflected garage rock, styled after the British Invasion in the vein of many peer groups, stayed largely unavailable until a 1994 CD reissue.
