Biography
Having performed occasionally as lead singer with Orchestra Baobab, the artist has gone on to build a thriving solo career propelled by incisive songwriting and a commanding vocal delivery. That level of acclaim has made him a frequent target of an active market in unauthorized cassette copies. On the 1991 cassette UNESCO, Seck directly addresses the bootleggers, while also presenting several pop songs that are gentler in tone yet equally vigorous. He stands as one of the two most widely recognized and esteemed vocalists in Senegal.
