Biography
Coumba Gawlo Seck, whose lineage extends through successive generations of griots known as praise singers, has sustained her exploration of the ancestral origins that shape her sound. After earning her diploma from ECMT Martin Luther King, also called Dakar College, she composed scores for multiple stage works presented by Teatro National Daniel Sorano. Her appearance at Telefood 98 in Dakar reached listeners around the world via an international broadcast that same year, and she was presented with the New Talent/Singer honor at Kora '99 twelve months later.
