Biography
Torcuato Mariano, born in Buenos Aires, relocated to Brazil during his teenage years. There, he absorbed musical influences from his Argentine roots alongside American artists like Santana and Stevie Wonder. As a guitarist, he accompanied Sergio Mendes, Ivan Lins, and Gal Costa on tour before launching his solo career in the early 1990s. He joined the new age imprint Windham Hill, issuing Paradise Station in 1994—an effort that fused his cultural background with elements of rock and blues. The following year saw the arrival of Last Look.
