Biography
Triggerfinger emerged from Belgium as a fiercely dynamic and impeccably attired rock trio whose sound channels the raw energy of Queens of the Stone Age, Masters of Reality, Led Zeppelin, and the Hives. The group first captured attention in 2004 through the singles “Inner Peace” and “Camaro,” both featured on their self-titled debut album, which earned widespread critical praise. Their punishing fusion of blues, stoner metal, and indie rock propelled them to success at home and abroad, drawing fervent support from listeners spanning multiple generations.
The Antwerp-based outfit coalesced in 1998 around Ruben Block on guitar and vocals, Mario Goossens on drums, and Paul Van Bruystegem on bass. Following the momentum of their first release, they issued What Grabs Ya? in 2008, an album reissued the next year with additional tracks. For 2010’s All This Dancin’ Around they relocated to Sound City Studios in North Hollywood, California; the record achieved gold status in Belgium and was supported by a European tour alongside Within Temptation. In 2012 an acoustic rendition of Lykke Li’s hit “I Follow Rivers” ascended to number one on the Belgian, Netherlands, and Austrian charts. The following year the band opened for the Rolling Stones at the Barclaycard Summer Time Festival in London’s Hyde Park. Their fourth studio album, By Absence of the Sun, arrived in 2014, while 2018’s Colossus marked their debut on Mascot Records and preceded an extensive European tour.
