Truck Stop

Although Germany is not commonly viewed as a birthplace for country music, the nation has nonetheless produced multiple acts rooted in the style, with Truck Stop ranking among the most prominent. The six-piece group—Prove Cisco, Lucius, Erich, Uwe, Teddy, and Knut—came together in the early 1970s and has continued releasing albums without interruption. Their sound and presentation closely resemble those of American country artists, a parallel underscored by album titles such as Keep on Trucking, Louisiana Ladies, and Highway 59, along with the hit singles “The Wild, Wild West,” “Take It Easy Old House,” and “Arizona, Arizona.” While Truck Stop has remained virtually unknown stateside, its audience has stayed robust across Europe.
