Velocette

In the aftermath of Comet Gain's breakup in early 1997, four of its five members quickly launched Velocette and drew broad notice throughout England. Their opening single, "Get Yourself Together," prompted swift coverage from both NME and Melody Maker, each of which named the track "Single of the Week" soon after hearing it. A year of widespread club dates and headline tours across the country in 1998 preceded the release of the band's debut album, Fourfold Remedy, which captured their signature approach. That sound blended frenzied rhythms and jazzy grooves with understated folk passages that built into explosive guitar passages, setting Velocette apart.
