Wilderness

The experimental and post-punk textures associated with Wilderness arise from the combined efforts of James Johnson, Brian Gossman, Will Goode, and Colin McCann. The quartet originated in Baltimore in 1995. Chad Clark of Dismemberment Plan and Q and Not U, together with TJ Lipple of Blue Velvet and Aloha, oversaw the spring 2004 sessions for the band’s self-titled debut, which Jagjaguwar released in July 2005. Vessel States appeared the following spring. April and May brought a run of tour dates shared with labelmates Parts & Labor.
