Win Win arose from a partnership uniting DJ Chris Devlin, Ghostdad, and producer XXXChange, who is recognized as one member of Spank Rock. Gathering at XXXChange's Brooklyn studio, the three enlisted vocal contributions from Gang Gang Dance's Liz Bougatsos, Hot Chip's Alexis Taylor, and Spank Rock's Naeem to shape their recordings. Featuring Bougatsos on vocals, the single "Releaserpm" appeared just ahead of the project's self-titled debut album, which surfaced in early 2011. Vice issued the follow-up Double Vision in October 2012. While each participant pursued separate endeavors, the group assembled a third album fronted by tracks such as the catchy, color-blooming "Been So Long," which Jahphet Landis of TV on the Radio and Courtney Epton helped write. Issued on the Arts & Crafts label, the neo-psychedelic Primaries arrived in summer 2015.
