Biography
Acoustic Ladyland came together in London during 2001. Their 2004 release Camouflage presented a mainly acoustic set of jazz reworkings drawn from Jimi Hendrix covers. Fronted by vocalist, saxophonist and arranger Pete Wareham of Polar Bear, the group shed the classic-rock associations tied to its name on the 2005 follow-up Last Chance Disco. That album of original material pushed the ensemble beyond conventional jazz boundaries and secured the BBC Jazz Award for Best Band of 2005. V2 Records issued Skinny Grin in late 2006, with Living with a Tiger arriving in 2009.
