Admiral Freebee

Tom van Laere, a Belgian singer and songwriter born in Brasschaat near Antwerp, records and performs as Admiral Freebee. He joined the 2000 edition of Humo's Rock Rally, a rock competition that awarded him second place by the judges while the audience vote went his way. The self-titled debut album Admiral Freebee appeared in 2003 and was followed in March 2005 by Songs. Between those two releases he toured both solo and with a band whose studio musicians had established reputations from sessions with leading 1990s alt-rock artists. Wild Dreams of New Beginnings, his third album, surfaced in 2006 and entered the Belgian Top 40. The Honey & the Knife arrived in 2010, The Great Scam followed in 2014, and the sixth studio album Wake Up and Dream was issued in 2016.
