Indonesian pop singer Afgansyah Reza, who performs under the name Afgan, draws on his adaptability to weave rock, soul, R&B, and jazz into his work. Having collected numerous honors throughout Indonesia, he reached listeners abroad for the first time via the 2021 release Wallflower.

His abilities came to light when he visited Wanna B Instant Recording Studio with several companions to produce an unofficial album for themselves. During the vocal session the studio owners and producers recognized his command of the material and promptly extended a recording deal. That agreement led directly to his first full-length project, Confession No. 1, issued in 2008. One year later he received the Best Solo Male Vocalist trophy at the Anugerah Musik Indonesia. His follow-up, The One, arrived in 2010 and paved the way for his performance of the official theme at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games. Three more collections followed: Live to Love in 2013, Sides in 2016, and Dekade in 2018. In 2020 he issued the single “Tunjukkan,” a joint effort with Raisa, then unveiled the song “I’m Sorry” in early 2021; both tracks set the stage for Wallflower, his initial project conceived for worldwide audiences.
