Yovie & Nuno

An Indonesian pop outfit operating first under the name Yovie & the Nuno before adopting its current identity, the band is fronted by pianist Yovie Widianto, whose breakthrough arrived as leader of Kahitna in the 1990s. Born January 21, 1968, in Jakarta, Indonesia, Widianto functions as pianist, keyboardist, bandleader, songwriter, and producer. He established Kahitna in 1986, steering the group through a run of successful albums that maintained popularity from the nineties onward. Following the start of the new century, additional solo albums appeared from him while Kahitna continued. In 2001 he launched Yovie & the Nuno without dissolving Kahitna. The 2007 release The Special One prompted the name change to Yovie & Nuno and delivered the major hit “Menjaga Hati.”
