Biography
Hamburg-based producer AgaJon built his reputation through a personal style of hip-hop that wove neo-soul, jazz, and classic hip-hop into the work of Jay Prince, Giggs, and Selah Sue, before unveiling his first full-length project, the 2022 album Nag Champa.
The German-Afghan artist encountered music early when his brother sparked an interest in hip-hop. From there he picked up drumming and developed beatboxing skills, later moving into DJ sets and then production with the goal of issuing his own material. His first release arrived in 2019 as the mini-album 7 Days, which featured Ninja Kidsoul, Leroy Menace, and Serious Klein. Several singles came next, after which his productions—blending urban jazz, neo-soul, and classic hip-hop—drew attention from other performers and led to collaborations with Jay Prince, Giggs, and Naomi Scott. In 2022 AgaJon prepared his debut album Nag Champa, previewing it with the singles “Romeo & Juliet,” “Higher,” and “Trust Yourself” ahead of the LP’s arrival later that year.
