Biography
Aidan Baker distinguishes himself through accomplishments both as an author and as a performer across multiple creative domains. Upon completing his studies at McGill University in Montreal, where he earned a degree in Literature and Religious Studies, he issued a four-song acoustic cassette under the moniker “Aodhan,” the Gaelic form of his name. Joining forces with a pair of musicians from Toronto, he formed the ambient guitar-driven trio ARC, which earned considerable acclaim for its inventive approach and artistic honesty. Three albums emerged from the group, among them Two from 2001. Baker’s writings have appeared in prominent literary magazines both within Canada and abroad, coinciding with the 2000 launch of his first album, Element. The subsequent year saw the arrival of Letters, his next release, which took the form of a concept album drawing loosely from correspondence attributed to Jack the Ripper and the Marquis de Sade.
