Biography
Alfonzo Blackwell entered the scene in 1995 on the Scotti Bros. label with his debut album Let's Imagine, which combined original material and covers of then-current hits. Strong placement on the Contemporary Jazz charts led directly to a follow-up, the self-titled Alfonzo Blackwell LP issued in 1996. Two years after that came Body and Soul, with The Time Is Now arriving the following spring in 2000.
