Allegra Krieger crafts soothing yet subtly provocative indie rock characterized by warmth and intricate detail. As a perceptive songwriter possessing a distinctive way with imagery, she launched her recording career in 2020 via The Joys of Forgetting, released through Northern Spy. Following the 2022 release Precious Thing, she moved to Brooklyn’s Double Double Whammy imprint, where I Keep My Feet on the Fragile Plane brought her notable recognition from critics in 2023. Her fourth full-length, Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine, reflected on the blaze that consumed her Manhattan residence.

Having distanced herself from her faith-based background in Jacksonville, Florida, Krieger relocated repeatedly across the United States while discovering various facets of her identity prior to settling in New York to pursue music. Her songwriting mirrors this journey of discovery, employing agile guitar-driven indie rock as a structure through which she contemplates both personal daily observations and broader questions of existence. The understated, reflective approach first presented on her 2020 Northern Spy debut found further development in Precious Thing. For her third album I Keep My Feet on the Fragile Plane she joined Double Double Whammy, where the Luke Temple collaboration yielded her most expansive musical statement thus far and garnered considerable praise. Having endured the apartment fire, she issued the contemplative Art of the Unseen Infinity Machine the next year.
