Amanda Ghost stands apart from the pop mainstream as a distinctive singer and songwriter whose brassy, ambient club aesthetic carves out its own space. Already established as a pop artist in England, she draws on Spanish and Indian roots while naming Nat King Cole, Nina Simone, the Doors, Depeche Mode, and Prince among the forces that shaped her path. During her time at the London College of Fashion she immersed herself in hardcore punk, techno beats, and classic folk rhythms, experiences that preceded her initial appearances on the North London club circuit.

Those early steps clarified her direction, leading her to write and collaborate with EMF’s Ian Dench and Mount Rushmore’s Lucas Barton. Her growing reputation within a musically connected circle earned approval from Boy George, Elton John, and Prodigy’s Liam Howlett. Warner Brothers then offered a recording deal, resulting in the September 2000 release of Ghost Stories, her charged debut of unfiltered, aggressive electronic rock.
