Biography
Indiana-born singer-songwriter Natalie Walker initially gained notice through her membership in Daughter Darling. Although that understated electronica trip-hop act showed clear potential, she opted to pursue work on her own and issued her debut solo album in 2006. Titled Urban Angel, the record was helmed by the production duo Stuhr—Dan Chen and Nate Greenberg—and achieved only modest commercial traction, yet two tracks from it proved instrumental in advancing her profile: a remix of “Quicksand” appeared in Sofia Coppola’s film Marie Antoinette, while “Circles” reached television audiences via an episode of Grey’s Anatomy. The 2008 follow-up, With You, again enlisted production from Stuhr. Walker reemerged in 2011 with her third studio album, Spark, which included the single “Uptight.”
