Amina Alaoui stands among the pivotal figures who shaped the development of Middle Eastern classical traditions. As a virtuoso pianist she has shared stages with Moroccan musicians including Djamchid Chemirani, Pedro Soler, Hameed Khan, Pablo Cueco, Hughes de Courson, and Luis Llach, while also creating and performing scores for numerous leading choreographers across the country. Born in Fez, Morocco, she entered the Conservatory of Rabat at six years old. Alongside her classical piano training she immersed herself in Arabic-Andalusian repertoire and in both Moroccan and broader Middle Eastern dance forms. At ten she released her first volume of poetry. Though she later pursued studies in philosophy and linguistics—covering Arabic, French, and Spanish—at the University of Rabat, music remained her central pursuit. She explored Persian classical music under Djalal Akhbari and delved into European medieval repertoire with Henri Agnel.
