An electronic musician and composer born in Bristol, England yet based in Berlin, Antoni Maiovvi established the Giallo Disco label with a collaborator in 2012. His productions evoke horror-movie soundtracks alongside Italo-disco while remaining more dancefloor-oriented than those of many peers. Seed Records, operated by Posthuman, issued his first recording, the limited CD Electro Muscle Cult, near the close of 2008, then followed it in 2009 with Shadow of the Bloodstained Kiss. Caravan Records delivered the full-length The Thorns of Love in 2010, and Fright Records put out the Zulawski EP. Sauroid released The Divine Invasion EP in 2011, while Seed presented the double-CD set Battlestar Transreplica/Trial by Bullet.

Maiovvi and Vercetti Technicolor launched Giallo Disco that same year, opening the catalog with their split EP Black Gloves before Maiovvi contributed Stockholm Synthdrone. The imprint soon accumulated dozens of titles, and Maiovvi meanwhile placed EPs on Magic Feet, Bordello A Parigi, and Flight Recorder. Death Waltz issued his soundtrack for the short film Yellow on Record Store Day in 2013 and, the following year, released the double-LP The Hook & Pull Gang containing Maiovvi and Umberto’s alternate score to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Not Not Fun, the Los Angeles label, brought out the LP Avrokosm in early 2015; later that year an edited version of The Hook & Pull Gang received wider distribution as Law Unit, and a split EP with the Slasher Film Festival Strategy appeared on Foreign Sounds. Additional EPs and singles surfaced across 2015 and 2016, among them Seasons in Hell on Castles in Space and Will to Powder on Schrödinger’s Box.
