Biography
Paganini's early support enabled Antonio Bazzini to rise swiftly among the leading violinists of his era. Near the age of forty-five he turned his efforts exclusively to composition, producing multiple chamber works that differed markedly from his celebrated earlier operatic fantasy "La ronde des lutins, Elegie". Operas, cantatas, overtures, and symphonic poems also issued from his pen, although chamber music remained his strongest compositional domain. ~ Keith Johnson
