Electro-pop and rock take on a dark, seductive edge in the work of Ari Abdul, a style equally at home on expansive dance floors and in cramped basement venues. Her breakthrough arrived via the 2022 debut EP Fallen Angel, which spotlighted the viral track "BABYDOLL." The follow-up sophomore EP CCTV appeared in 2023, the same year she joined forces with alternative acts Two Feet and Deadbeat Girl.

Brooklyn-raised, Abdul absorbed her Ecuadorian mother's Latin album collection alongside her Costa Rican father's classic rock preferences. Guitar lessons began early, shifting to electric by age 14 and fueling a deep engagement with grunge and punk both onstage and in crowds. Only in mid-2021, at 19 and prompted by her mother, did she begin creating original material, rapidly shaping a beat-driven, noir-tinged pop sound carried by a weary yet warm vocal delivery. An existing modest TikTok audience helped propel her forward; the February 2022 debut single "BABYDOLL" and its April sped-up counterpart "BABYDOLL (Speed)" each amassed tens of millions of streams. That track anchored the RCA-issued Fallen Angel EP upon its October release.

Further millions of streams followed from EP cuts such as "Taste" and "Stay," prompting a quick succession of independent singles that included the rock-leaning "Bored" and the pulsing "You" in early 2023. August brought the darker collaboration "Make Me Cry" with Deadbeat Girl, while October 2023 saw the RCA release of her second EP, CCTV. Two months afterward, Abdul appeared on the Two Feet single "KILL ANYONE."
