Since its establishment in 1987, the Bahia-based Asa de Águia ensemble, focused on axé music, has produced 13 albums that have achieved sales of 3,000,000 units. The ensemble, which stages 12 performances monthly across Brazil, scored successes with tracks including "Bota Pra Ferver," "Take It Easy," "Qual É," "A Gente Pede Festa," "Com Amor," "Não Tem Lua," "Oba Vou Passear," "Cocobambu," "Dia Dos Namorados," "Eu Quero Mais," "Baila Que Eu Vou," "Pra Lá De Bragadá," "Xô Satanás," "Dança Da Tartaruga," "Dança Da Manivela," and "Dança Do Vampiro." Initially known as Banda Pinel and active with concerts in Salvador particularly amid Carnival celebrations, the outfit has consistently employed a method merging lively tunes—drawing from rock, funk, pop, and reggae—with dance routines that engage thousands of spectators in movement.
