Basta

William Wahl and Rene Overmann, schoolmates who first conceived the project, brought the German a cappella outfit Basta together in Cologne during 2000. Early membership changes created instability, yet the roster finally locked into place in 2004, aligning precisely with the recording of the group’s second album, B. Steady road work paired with a taste for understated humor earned consistent critical favor, which in turn led to the inclusion of their single “Gast Bei Freunden” among the official 2006 World Cup releases. The quartet then issued its fourth album, Wir Sind Wie Wir Sind, in 2007.
