Biography
Serving as yet another creative vehicle for Steve Spacek, also known as Steve White, the Beat Spacek project allowed this versatile producer to blend ominous synth pop with downtempo grooves, dancehall rhythms, and deep bass elements. He secured a deal with Ninja Tune for Beat Spacek, resulting in the January 2015 release of Modern Streets. This effort stood apart from his earlier projects, which included the band Spacek along with the partnerships Africa HiTech and Space Invadas, as well as other solo endeavors such as Black Pocket. Moreover, the record took on a more intimate character, having been crafted mostly through applications on iPhone and iPad devices, drawing influence from the diverse musical influences he absorbed while growing up in South East London.
