Biography
Blectum from Blechdom pairs a refined ear for positioning audio fragments with fuzzy, scattered breakbeats, all filtered through their peculiar and twisted comic perspective. Even during performances of more earnest material, the pair has been known to launch into boy band karaoke or appear in a single jumpsuit built for two. Kevin Blectum and Blevin Blechdom first crossed paths as students at the all-female Mill's College. Although Blechdom had planned to create music that would simply fade beneath Blectum’s tracks, the discovery that their sounds complemented each other resulted in the duo’s formation. Their emergence coincided with the early growth and media spotlight surrounding California’s IDM community. As members of the Tigerbeat6 roster alongside Kid 606, Cex, and Lesser, they have issued albums on Deluxe and on Kit Clayton’s label Orthlorng Musork, as well as a lathe-cut 10" for Dial Records.
