Bloodhorse

Bloodhorse came together toward the end of 2004, with drummer Alex Garcia-Rivera, bassist/vocalist Matt Woods, and guitarist/vocalist Adam Wentworth looking to occupy their spare time between commitments to other projects while exploring the boundaries of stoner metal. Once those prior responsibilities concluded, the three members abandoned the grind and hardcore punk elements that characterized their work with the Red Chord and Give Up the Ghost in favor of a more fundamental and intense approach reminiscent of Hawkwind and Deep Purple. The band's demo Black Lung Rising appeared independently in 2006, which caught the interest of Translation Loss Records. Following their signing with the imprint in 2007, they issued a self-titled EP soon after. Horizoner arrived on Translation Loss two years later.
