Blxckie

South African rapper Sihle Sithole, who records as Blxckie, blends rap verses with R&B singing across his extensive catalog. Raised in Durban from birth, he first experimented with music at age 17. While completing a psychology degree he assembled his debut EP, Eqnx II, which appeared in 2019. A trip to visit friends in Johannesburg coincided with the outbreak of COVID, leaving him stranded; he therefore devoted the downtime to daily recording sessions alongside LucasRaps, 808Sallie, Shouldyuang, and Yungseruno under the name Clout Internet Boyz. Their constant output quickly accumulated listeners, prompting Sithole to abandon his studies and pursue music full-time. The 2020 single “Big Time Sh’lappa” marked his initial breakthrough and was soon followed by the EPs It Feels Like a Dream and Blxck Panda. His first proper album, B4Now, arrived the next year. Shifting emphasis for his subsequent release, Sithole trained himself to sing and delivered the R&B-focused 4Luv EP in 2022.
