Biography
Originating from Harlem, the rap ensemble known as the Boogie Boys secured their lone major success in 1985 when "A Fly Girl," issued on the Capitol label, climbed to number six on the R&B charts. William "Boogie Knight" Stroman, Joe "Romeo J.D." Malloy, and Rudy "Lil' Rahiem" Sheriff formed the group's roster. Their momentum faltered after this early peak, with Sheriff departing by 1988 and the remaining members disbanding shortly thereafter.
