Biography
Brandon Fields stands out as a skilled alto saxophonist whose approach reflects the influence of David Sanborn while allowing him to move comfortably between R&B/crossover material and hard bop. Raised in Orange County, CA, he first took up the alto at age ten. From his mid-teens onward he worked as a freelance musician, relocating to Los Angeles in 1982 and maintaining steady employment thereafter. His résumé includes a 1985 tour with George Benson, longstanding membership in the Rippingtons, continuous demand as a session player, and leader dates issued on Nova and Positive.
