Biography
Dr. Brenda Jefferson serves as co-pastor of Deeper Life Christian Church in Tampa, Florida, while also pursuing work as a singer, songwriter, author, and fashion designer. After a traumatic childhood shaped by abuse, she began ministry at age 25. With her husband, the Tampa native founded the House of David Help Center, an outreach and rehabilitation facility tied to Deeper Life. Jefferson furthered the Gospel through music as musical director at DLCC. Her debut album, A Time of Refreshing, arrived in 2007 and fused gospel power with R&B, featuring appearances by Lisa Page-Brooks, LaCresia Campbell, and Jamie Jones of All-4-One. She additionally wrote inspirational books such as The Little Book of Wisdom, Pen of a Ready Writer, Going to the Heavens, and Dreams Come True. A decade after her first release, Jefferson issued Invocation in 2017 on her own Scripture Music Group label. The album included Dorinda Clark, Sam Washington, Lowell Pye, Isaac Carree, and Myron Butler, reaching number ten on Billboard's Gospel chart.
