Brendan Peyper

Brendan Peyper, an Afrikaans vocalist from South Africa, has earned notice for his catchy blend of contemporary country and rhythm-driven pop. Breakthrough success arrived with the 2015 debut album Stop Wag Bly nog 'n bietjie, while additional chart momentum followed through the 2017 sophomore release Hy Loop Oop.

Peyper came into the world in 1996 in Bloemfontein, South Africa, and spent his formative years working the family farm before taking up guitar at age fourteen. During his teenage period he also competed in rugby and planned a career in sound engineering, yet he was already attracting listeners with his memorable pop tunes upon finishing high school. The full-length debut Stop Wag Bly nog 'n bietjie appeared in 2015 and delivered its hit title-track single. By the close of 2016 he had secured two South African Music Award nominations, one of them for Best Pop Album. He followed up in 2017 with the sophomore album Hy Loop Oop, which included the songs "Twee is beter as een" and "Vanaand sê ek net ja." His third studio album, Dis Nie Sonde Nie, reached audiences in 2018. The single "Lekkerder Op My Trekker" surfaced in March 2020.
