Busy Bee

Emerging onto the music landscape during 1977, Busy Bee, the MC from New York, collaborated extensively with pioneers of hip-hop such as Melle Mel, Afrika Bambaataa, and Kool DJ AJ. Renowned primarily for humorous lyrics, he built a substantial audience initially via rap competitions across Staten Island, Brooklyn, and New Jersey, securing the MC World Supremacy Belt at the New Music Seminar in 1986. During the early 1980s, Afrika Bambaataa invited the artist into Zulu Nation, leading him to serve as a DJ at the organization's events. Busy Bee further featured in the seminal hip-hop movie Wild Style from 1982, taking on the role of an MC. Beyond providing DJ services for fellow performers, he issued recordings through the Brass, Sugarhill, and Strong City imprints.
