Biography
Carolyn Franklin, youngest sister of Aretha Franklin, created a series of moderately successful songs both for her own recordings and for those of her sister Erma. Among the various compositions credited to Carolyn Franklin are “Without Love,” “Baby Baby Baby,” “I Was Made for You,” and “Sing It Again-Say It Again.” She supplied backing vocals for Aretha across five years while also releasing material as a solo artist on RCA. Her strongest chart entry, the 1969 single “It’s True I Gonna Miss You,” reached #23 on the R&B charts. Cancer took her life in 1988.
