Chaos Chaos

Emerging from Seattle, sisters Chloe and Asya Saavedra spent close to ten years performing under the name Smoosh before evolving into the refined electronic pop duo Chaos Chaos. As teenagers they issued three albums, toured extensively across the United States, performed at Lollapalooza, and shared bills with Death Cab for Cutie, Cat Power, and Sleater-Kinney. After Withershins appeared in 2010 the pair retired the Smoosh identity and cultivated a sleeker, synthesizer-centric aesthetic that surfaced first on the 2012 EP S. The sisters maintained their signature shared vocals and multi-instrumental approach while sharpening the bright, melodic material with a harder edge appropriate to their adult experience. Their second EP, Committed to the Crime, followed in 2014. After “Do You Feel It” aired on the animated series Rick & Morty, the Saavedras joined forces with co-creator Justin Roiland for the single “Terryfold,” which entered Billboard’s Hot Rock Songs chart in 2017. Two richly textured singles, “Dripping with Fire” and “On Turning 23,” surfaced later that year, succeeded in 2018 by the vibrant track “Pink Politics.”
