Charlieonnafriday crafts a yearning, romantic fusion of melodic pop, R&B, and hip-hop as both a singer and rapper. His entry into the industry arrived with the 2022 release Onnafriday, which spotlighted the viral track “After Hours.” The 2023 single “That’s What I Get” then secured a spot on Billboard’s Pop 100, setting the stage for his second album, Wild Child, which surfaced in 2024.
Seattle, Washington native Charlie Finch, performing as Charlieonnafriday, nurtured an early interest in music and began rapping with friends in eighth grade. By junior year of high school, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he shifted focus to writing and recording original material, taking cues from Macklemore and Justin Bieber. Tracks posted online helped him build a substantial social media following. “After Hours” exploded in 2021, drawing millions of views. A subsequent contract with Island Records paved the way for the April 2022 launch of his debut album, Onnafriday. Further singles such as “Enough” and “That’s What I Get” appeared, with the latter reaching number 22 on Billboard’s Pop 100. These releases preceded his sophomore full-length, Wild Child, issued in August 2024.
