Born Leury José Tejeda Brito in 1989 Santa Domingo, Dominican rapper Chimbala ranks among Latin America’s foremost dembow performers, the high-energy offshoot of reggaeton. The 2018 release “Maniqui” transformed his trajectory, elevating him within the Urbano landscape next to established hitmakers such as Zion & Lennox, Justin Quiles, Guaynaa, and Don Miguelo.
