Rapper Mozart La Para spent his childhood on the fringes of Santa Domingo in the Dominican Republic, immersed in classic Reggae en Español, and by twelve he had already honed a talent for improvisation. Those abilities soon carried him into neighborhood freestyle competitions, where he repeatedly reached the final round of Batalla de los Gallos. While peers gravitated toward dembow and tropical pop, La Para kept refining a distinctly Latin hip-hop approach. In 2013 he issued the singles Mi Angelito Favorito and En Para Everybody; the next year brought additional tracks, among them Pa' Gozar, which registered on Billboard’s tropical chart. Although his name had already gained traction across Latin music circles, wider U.S. recognition arrived in 2015 through further Billboard-charting material. By 2016 he had produced the autobiographical film Pueto Pa' Mi and released the trap-leaning single Primero Que Kanye. The track drew the notice of Romeo Santos at Roc Nation, leading to La Para’s signing with the label’s Latin roster that same year. His debut offering under the imprint, Fiesta y Vacilón, surfaced in early 2017, followed several months later by El Orden.
