Biography
In 1991 the Canadian heavy metal goddess Steele joined forces with Brian MacLeod, the former Headpins guitarist and songwriter, to create the album Magnet To Steele. Sessions unfolded aboard MacLeod’s yacht as it sailed the coastal waters of British Columbia. Although Steele commanded a forceful and singular vocal presence, the songs’ imitative and radio-oriented arrangements ultimately worked against her. Marketing copy filled with swagger and erotic imagery ended up generating more attention than the music itself.
