Biography
In the opening years of the 1980s, former Angel keyboardist Gregg Giuffria assembled Giuffria, enlisting vocalist David Glen Eisley, guitarist Craig Goldy, bassist Chuck Wright, and drummer Alan Krigger. Echoing Journey’s blend of power pop and arena hard rock, the band’s self-titled 1984 debut achieved only modest commercial traction yet yielded the charting single “Call to Your Heart.” The group subsequently supported Deep Purple and Foreigner on the road and later mounted its own headline trek throughout Japan. After Lanny Cordola and David Sikes replaced Goldy and Wright, the 1986 follow-up Silk and Steel received scant promotional or touring resources. Once the band dissolved without ceremony, Gregg Giuffria reconvened with Cordola and Wright to launch House of Lords. ~ Shawn Perry
