In January 2001 the Latin rock ensemble Circo assembled around former Manjar de los Dioses vocalist José Luis Abreu, known professionally as Fofe, keyboardist Edgardo Santiago, and drummer David Pérez. Ex-Bayanga bassist Nicolas Cordero and guitarist Orlando Mendez later completed the group. Their opening release, the album No Todo Lo Que Es Pop Es Bueno, fused pop/rock with traditional Latin rhythms.
